We support women in the South West into meaningful employment

We help Mums transform their lives by rebuilding confidence and helping them on their journey to find work that works for them and their families.

Our 12 month programmes combine bespoke classroom training with a work placement, 121 career coaching and mentoring.

We exist to facilitate our Mums to become the best versions of themselves, whatever that looks like. Ambition is unique to an individual and we always aim to help someone identify it and then take the necessary steps to achieve it.

About us

The Women's Work Lab C.I.C supports mums to become work ready. We exist to facilitate our participants to become the best versions of themselves, whatever that looks like. Ambition is unique to an individual and we will always aim to help someone identify it and then take the necessary steps to achieve it.

Our bespoke classroom training, work placement and career coaching programmes focus on building confidence, ambition and employability skills. We specialise in unlocking potential and laying the foundations for a brighter future.

And we get results! Outcomes for participants include new careers, further training and crucially the creation of a vital support network. Sixty one percent of our 2023 graduates are now back working.

Join our mums

Are you looking to find a career that fits around your family and fulfills you? We understand it can be hard to know where to start! We want to support you on your journey back into work via our school hours and term time only training, work placement and career coaching programme.

We are currently accepting applications from unemployed mums and want to support you to build your confidence through the skills we teach and our hands-on approach to learning.

We don’t mind why you’re out of work, or for how long it has been - we would just like to support you to find your own path back to employment. Our programme is perfect for those who are motivated to re-start their career but aren’t quite sure how to get going. 100% of our recent graduates now feel confident about applying for a new job and returning to the workplace (from 54% before the programme began).

Offer a work placement

We work with businesses in the South West who are keen to offer entry-level work placements to our participants. Our mums may either be looking for a career change or more usually will have been out of work for at least a year. Many have faced challenges including domestic abuse, lone parenting, children with SEN or home displacement.

The work placement is far from a tick box exercise! We support you to create job descriptions and work schedules to give our mums a truly meaningful experience.

We are currently looking to connect with businesses in Somerset, North Somerset, Bristol, Bath and South Gloucestershire who are interested in offering work placements.
