The Women’s Work Lab is set up as a Community Interest Company limited by guarantee without share capital (Company number 11860694)
Our stated aims are to support under-represented women aged 25+ to fulfill their career potential and become work ready. We aim to unlock potential and lay the foundations for a brighter future for our mums. Outcomes for participants include new careers, positive role modelling for their families and communities and the creation of a vital support network.
As Co-Founders Rachel Mostyn and Camilla Rigby are the two directors of the C.I.C as well as board members David and Shoba. The independent board oversees the governance of the organisation and provides strategic direction, sets organisational aims and ensure thats the Women’s Work Lab remains true to its purpose.
Board Members
David Jones - Chief Executive at Changing Tunes
As an experienced Leader with a demonstrated history of working in the not for profit industry, Dave specialises in the governance, running and strategic planning of CICs. Previous to his current role he was Director of Brentry & Henbury Children’s Centre for several years.
Shoba Ram - Co-CEO of Transform Drug Policy Foundation
Shoba has over 20 years experience working in the third sector with a specialism in the criminal justice and drugs and alcohol field. Shoba has vast experience both in building teams and understanding the current third sector funding landscape. She is passionate about improving lives, supporting change and forever challenging stigma.
Alice Elsmore - Director at Monahans
Alice is a practicing Accountant and is responsible for the overarching strategic management of the Women’s Work Lab financial resources. Alice reports to the Board on cash-flow forecast, anticipated revenue streams, overheads, out-going expenses and oversees the organisation’s financial risk-management process.
Melissa Haskell - Partner at Knights
As a practising Solicitor-Advocate, Melissa leads on legal and compliance for the Women’s Work Lab and is involved in promoting ED&I in the workplace. Melissa’s contribution to the board includes her knowledge, experience and independence to oversee and direct operations; and where appropriate involve stakeholders to best develop its community.
Rose Ward - Head of Safeguarding, University of West of England
With 10 years experience working with complex mental health presentations in the community, Rose transferred her specialist skills to Safeguarding the unique needs of the student population. Rose has trained as a dialectical behavioural therapist to better understand highly complex and dynamic risk presentations and has a wealth of experience in designing and implementing new services to better support community need and risk.
